Springboard helping students make the leap

Let’s all agree: searching for a job sucks. Searching for a job when you’re a recent college graduate sucks worse.

You spend four (or five, or more) years aiming at that magic graduation date. Everything you do is about that date. The problem is, no one tells you what to do the day after graduation.

What goes in my portfolio? How many pieces? How do I find out who’s hiring? What should my cover letter say? Do I list my job as a cashier at Hy-Vee on my resume? (By the way, the answer to that last question is NO, unless you’re looking to extend your cashiering career.)

Well, now we’re supplying those answers – and more. Check out our new blog springboard501. It’s geared towards college students in the fields of advertising, graphic design and publishing. Ask questions, post comments or visit the other sites featured on the blog.

Hopefully, we can help you jumpstart your career.
